HandbookGriffithsBK1583 - Practical Handbook of Homoeopathy - C. Griffith - £12.99
Teacher and highly experienced homoeopath gives guidance on selecting remedies according to body systems - ( eg: bones, muscles, sinews - or problems like childhood complaints or emotional trauma).

Most usefully, advises on Bach Flower remedies & outlines symptoms and treatments of some common but less well-known conditions such as Osgood-Schlatter disease.
The limits of self-help treatment are outlined and emphasised - with red-line symptoms, (such as those for a stroke), clearly defined.

ColurWauters

BK1692 - Hom. Colour & Sound Remedies - A. Wauters - £14.50
Revised & expanded from Colour-only, this book presents both colour & sound remedies, as clinically researched by its author over a number of years, and their affinity with corresponding chakras. Her more recent experience with sound chords indicates that these latter can strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of colour remedies through their influence on the astral body. There is a chapter on each of the chakras and its indicated colour/ sound. Suggested therapeutic uses for each of the combined sound-colour remedies, and questions to elicit which chakra/s are imbalanced and in need of healing are included in this excellent, most useful text.

InspiringSmitsBK1697 - Inspiring Homeopathy - Dr. Tinus Smits - £31.00
This account of using homoepathic remedies such as Saccharum Off, Carcinosin, Lac Maternum , Vernix, & others to assist in freeing patients from dysfunctional life patterns, will inspire you, like its title, to support them & understand their process of healing. Tinus Smits has developed and uses a specific methodology incorporating a model of 7 potential layers of trauma - any or all of which may give rise to specific deep-rooted difficulties. Lack of proper incarnation , for example, (Lac Maternum), is increasingly seen in practice, with today's prevalence of dreamy ADD or aggressive ADHD children. Each Layer is described in depth - with a number of very interesting cases - and each layer is linked to a remedy or remedies. The process of different layers and possible sequences between them is examined, along with the author's preferred use of potencies. He also details his very interesting new combination remedy, Carcinosin cum Cuprum. This new, very well clinically researched methodology, will expand your homoeopathic prescribing horizons - and, most probably, your practice with it! Very well recommended.

ButterfliesLeRouxBK1731 – Butterflies - P. Le Roux - £15.99
Gorgeous book - like its subject - examining both butterflies and moths (13 species) in terms of common and individual themes based on provings and clinical experience - each butterfly or moth being illustrated with a case and beautiful colour photograph - giving a good idea of the doctrine of signatures of each. All the cases presented relate to children and the themes of abandonment by a parent, agitation/ amusement/ ADHD (the butterfly mind); the double face - which may manifest in dreams as the mask (metamorphosis); Strongly colourful (like the butterfly itself); and a constant sense of imminent danger (being quite low on the food chain!). Lovely, inspirational work.
The following are covered: Death's Head Hawkmoth ( Acherontia Atropos) ; Lilac Beauty ( Apeira Syringaria); Brown tail Moth (Bombyx liparis Chrysorrhoea); Processional Caterpillar ( Bombyx Processionaria); Marsh Fritillary (Euphydryas Aurinia); Brimstone (Gonepteryx Rhamni); Tailed Jay (Graphium Agamemnon); European Peacock (Inachis Io); Californian Sister (Limenitis Bredowii); Fox Moth (Macrothylacia Rubi); Blue Morpho (Morpho Peleides); Small Tortoiseshell (Nymphalis Urticae);Large White, or Cabbage White, ( Pieris Brassicae).

SeaRemediesEvans

BK1747 - Sea Remedies - J. Evans - £60.00
This is a Materia Medica with a difference, drawing its poetic resonance from Baudelaire and others. Beautifully written and stunningly illustrated, it "Is intended to delight the senses and inspire the imagination, connecting you to the wonder of sea life visually as well as through the written word". The evolution of the 5 senses is reflected in the evolution of creatures within the sea - where synaesthesia, (a crossover of the senses, where colour, for example, may be experienced as sound), is common. The author examines through the lens of each of the senses the many different ways in which individual sea remedies express or experience vision, taste, etc. For example, visually, Pearl finds herself focussing on people's eyes, has a feeling of being stared at, and dreams of "Big eyes staring at me".
A complete Materia Medica is included, laid out according to species, and there is a thematic repertory at the back.
This is a book to ravish all 5 of your senses and, as a user-friendly desk reference, will enable you to perceive your patient's remedy through the vivid language of his/her own expressive senses.

BachBarnardBK1783 - Bach Flower Remedies - the essence within - J. Barnard - £14.99
Beautiful, poetic evocation in words and colour photographs of the doctrine of signatures at the heart of the 38 Bach Flower essences. The solid endurance of Oak, for example, (massy branches capable of sustaining innumerable creatures), is contrasted with the upward swirling bark and explosive white flowers of the Sweet Chestnut whose keynote ability is to to lift one from the depths of despair into renewed light and optimism.
Use this book to enhance your sensitivity to and awareness of the Bach flowers via the medium of the beautiful colour and language portraits of each - or maybe as a tool for dowsing. Follow Dr. Bach throughout his personal voyage of discovery - starting with Impatiens on the river Usk in southern Wales - culminating in Sweet Chestnut.
Acquire the knowledge of how to pick and prepare flower essences ( maybe intuitively find your own ) using the tried and tested methods of Bach. This book is an absolute gem and would make a perfect gift!

TheLacsHatherly

BK1785 - Lacs ( The ) Mat. Med. & Repertory- P. Hatherley - £74.00
These fascinating, useful remedies now made even more accessible to the prescriber in this compendious format of Materia Medica and Repertory of 20 Lac's. The author - herself a doula and lactation cosultant - conveys her many years' experience in the field. She writes with both psychological depth and scientific rigour - for example, presenting the nutritional components of the various milks in tabular form. Additionally, her analysis of the issues of Lac Humanum / Lac Maternum, gives many insights into their use - eg: unresolved issues of bonding with the mother being passed down the generations. Lac Humanum is identified as a major remedy for postnatal depression. Overall the work is extremely clearly laid out - both in the Repertory section and Materia Medica. Themes are well highlighted; the author's own experiences with the remedy, or explanation of a particular characteristic, being grey-lighted.
Fascinating and incredibly useful work - a Must-Have for all prescribers! Lacs covered: Ass (Lac Asinum), Camel (Lac Cameli Dromedarii), Cat (Lac Felinum), Cow (Lac Vacc & Lac Vacc Defloratum) , Dog (Lac Caninum), Wolf (Lac Lupinum), Dolphin (Lac Delphinum), Elephant (Lac Loxodonta Africana), Goat (Lac Caprinum), Horse (Lac Equinum), Human (Lac Humanum and Lac Maternum), Kangaroo(Lac Macropi Gigantei), Lion (Lac Leoninum), Llama (Lac Llama Glama), Pig (Lac Suis) and Sus (composite of Pig's blood, milk, saliva, and semen ), Rabbit,(Lac Oryctolagus Cunicilus) Seal, (Lac Phoca Vitulina).

SurvivialSankaran

BK1801 - Survival The Reptile ( Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 ) - R. Sankaran - £76.00
The characteristic qualities of each of the reptile families is explored and illustrated with striking colour photographs. The sudden death-dealing attack of crocodile - supreme master within a confined area of influence - reminds one of a mafioso godfather-type - (and who would want one of these as a patient...???!!!)... Contrast him with slow, retiring, defensive, vulnerable, peace-loving tortoise - and the full range of this remarkable kingdom will open up to your prescribing skills.
Sankaran's usual methods of alert words, gestures, and so on, are related to each species and sub-species - with very clear, full cases. A MUST for all Sankaran fans. (Price is for both volumes combined).

HorsesCouzens

BK1814 - Horses And Homoeopathy - T. Couzens - £14.99

NosodesJoshiBK1828 - Nosodes and Imponderables Come Alive! - Drs. B. & S. Joshi - £50.50
These lively, modern homoeopaths explore and extend the concepts of miasms and nosodes as initially expressed by Hahnemann and subsequently redefined by others, especially Sankaran.
They deftly summarise the key issues of and differences between the Plant, Animal and Mineral kingdoms. They then examine ten different miasms, which, in their schema, are supported by three pillars: the progressively desperate states of Psora, Sycosis and, finally, Syphilis.
Packed with many illustrative cases and a very clear analysis of how the miasms speak - both directly and via the remedies within their gravitational pull - this exciting new book will appeal to practitioners and students.
