Volume 2 in the author's Materia Medica Clinica series, the others being 'Milk Remedies', 'Some Rosaceae' and 'Some Arachnids'. Presenting remedies from the kingdom of Fungi, both old and new, this book attempts to find broad commonalities within the different mushroom species, a homeopathic project we might think Boericke and Allen began many years ago but not much attended to since. Mangialavori explores fourteen different remedies in this volume, a tiny number from within the identified mushroom species of about 100,00, itself a tiny proportion of the actual number of fungi, said to be more than 5 million. At a time when science and popular culture seem to be full of new information about mushrooms and their extraordinary mycelial networks that resemble the neural pathways of the human brain, this is a lovely book to deepen our understanding of fungi remedies and to gain confidence in prescribing them.
